Schuyler Island, Schuyler[' ']s Island, or Whitney Island, is an island in Lake Champlain, between Port Kent, New York and Willsboro Bay, opposite Burlington, Vermont. It is a part of Chesterfield, in Essex County, New York. Schuyler Island was involved in the 1776 Battle of Valcour during the American Revolutionary War. Schuyler Island was a family farm and was taken from the family during World War II using eminent domain provisions of the law.
