1812 Homestead Farm and Museum

The 1812 Homestead Farm and Museum, sometimes known as the 1812 Homestead or the 1812 Homestead Inn is a historic house located in Willsboro, New York that currently operates as a living history museum. Originally constructed in 1813 as an inn, the homestead now offers tours and programming allowing the visitors to experience what life was like at that time and educates visitors on 19th Century heritage. It is also the current home of the Burt School, which was originally located in Essex.

Willsboro is a town in Essex County, New York, in the United States, and lies thirty miles south of the city of Plattsburgh. As of the 2010 census, the town population was 2,025. The town is named after early land owner William Gilliland.

Schuyler Island

Schuyler Island, Schuyler[' ']s Island, or Whitney Island, is an island in Lake Champlain, between Port Kent, New York and Willsboro Bay, opposite Burlington, Vermont. It is a part of Chesterfield, in Essex County, New York. Schuyler Island was involved in the 1776 Battle of Valcour during the American Revolutionary War. Schuyler Island was a family farm and was taken from the family during World War II using eminent domain provisions of the law.
