WBEN (AM)

WBEN is an AM radio station serving the Niagara, Buffalo and Western New York area, broadcasting on 930 kHz and, as of April 5, 2011, simulcasting on a sister FM station WLKK at 107.7 MHz, which in turn is relayed on a translator W297AB-FM at 107.3 MHz from Williamsville, New York. It previously simulcasted between 1946 and 1960 on 102.5 FM as WBEN-FM (with the morning show simulcast continuing until 1973).

Welland County, Ontario

Welland County (area, excluding cities was 226,970 acres) is a historic county in the Canadian province of Ontario. The county was formed in 1851 from Lincoln County. The county was named from the Welland River. The river got its name from John Graves Simcoe who named it after a stream in Lincolnshire, England. Niagara Falls, and the Townships in this county were among the earliest settlements in Upper Canada.
