Rondout Reservoir

Rondout Reservoir is part of New York City's water supply network. It is located 75 miles (120 km) northwest of the city in the Catskill Mountains, near the southern end of Catskill Park, split between the towns of Wawarsing in Ulster County and Neversink in Sullivan County. It is the central collection point for the city's Delaware System, which provides half its daily consumption.

Wawarsing, New York

Wawarsing is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 13,157 at the 2010 census. The name means "a place where the stream bends" in the Warwarsink language and refers to the geography of the land; particularly the joining of the Ver Nooy Kill and the Rondout Creek. The Town of Wawarsing is in the western part of the county. The southern and eastern-most portions are on the Shawangunk Ridge.

Eastern Correctional Facility

The Eastern Correctional Facility is a maximum security prison in New York in the USA. The prison is located in the Town of Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York. The prison was at one time called the "State Institution for Male Defective Delinquents". The Delaware and Hudson Canal, and later the New York, Ontario and Western Railway, ran past the front of the prison. The prison opened October 1, 1900.

Palentown, New York

Palentown is a hamlet in Ulster County, New York, USA. Palentown is situated inside the Catskill Park in the northwest part of the Town of Rochester. Palentown is located off Ulster County Route 3 (Samsonville Road) just south of the Rochester-Olive town lines. The hamlet is northeast of the nearby hamlet of Riggsville and south of the Olive hamlet of Samsonville.
