Midland, North Carolina

Midland is a town in southern Cabarrus County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Located in the south-central portion of the state, it lies in the region known as the Piedmont. The name of the town is derived from its location approximately one-half way between Charlotte and Oakboro on the railroad line. As the town was not yet incorporated at the time of the 2000 census, it was not listed then, but 2006 Census Bureau estimates give the town's population as 2,978.

Concord Speedway

Concord Speedway is a motorsports facility located in the town of Midland, North Carolina, southeast of Concord, North Carolina. The track held twelve NASCAR Grand National events between 1956 and 1964 at the original track located off Poplar Tent Road in Concord NC.

Reed Gold Mine

Rocky River (North Carolina)

The Rocky River is a 95-mile-long river in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. It begins in Iredell County near Mooresville and flows south into Cabarrus County, where it is the principal waterway in the county. The river continues southeastward to form the line between Stanly, Union, and Anson counties. It empties into the Pee Dee River just below Norwood, North Carolina at the junction of Stanly, Montgomery, Anson, and Richmond counties, at the foot of the Uwharrie Mountains.
