The J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center is a state government institution in Morganton, NC. The Riddle Center provides treatment and care for persons with mental retardation. Formerly known as Western Carolina Center, it was renamed for its director, J. Iverson Riddle. Riddle, who served as director for the existence of the institution, resigned effective June 30, 2006. The new director, Art Robarge, began on August 15, 2006.
