The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival is a music and dance festival that takes place each spring and fall in Silk Hope, North Carolina, near Chapel Hill. The festival takes place on a 75-acre farmstead which is managed by Shakori Hills, Inc. a non-profit organization. The festival has been held twice annually since 2003. It is associated with and modeled after the larger Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival that takes place near Trumansburg, New York each summer.

Terrells Mountain
Terrells Mountain or Terrell's Mountain is a hill in Chatham County, North Carolina, about 5-10 miles southwest of Chapel Hill. Terrells Mountain contains several radio transmission antennas, the tallest of which stands at the summit and rises about 1,300 feet . The summit itself is 755 feet above sea level. The primary user of the antennas is WUNC and its sister stations which broadcast the public radio service operated by the nearby University of North Carolina.
