The South River is a tributary of the Black River, approximately 75 mi (121 km) long, in southeastern North Carolina in the United States. It rises in northeastern Harnett County, near Angier and approximately 25 mi (40 km) south of Raleigh. It flows SSE past Benson, then SSW passing south of Dunn.

Oriental, North Carolina

Oriental is known as 'The Sailing Capital of North Carolina'. This tiny harbor town is on the Neuse River, the widest river in the USA, leading to the vast sailing waters of Pamlico Sound and on to the Atlantic through North Carolina's barrier islands. The area is easily some of the finest boating waters on the East Coast. Oriental is midpoint on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and a destination for hundreds of cruising sailors travelling North and South with the seasons.

WFXI is the Fox-affiliated television station for Eastern North Carolina's Inner Banks that is licensed to Morehead City. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on VHF channel 8 from a transmitter in unincorporated Davis, North Carolina along the South River's East Fork. The station can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 8 and Suddenlink channel 9. There is a high definition feed provided on Suddenlink digital channel 109 and Time Warner Cable digital channel 1125.

North River (North Carolina)

The North River is a tidal river, approximately 18 miles (29 km) long, in eastern North Carolina, the United States. It forms the boundary between Currituck and Camden counties. The river rises in the Great Swamp, 10 miles east of Elizabeth City, North Carolina at the juncture of Indiantown Creek. The river's mouth, where it is approximately four miles wide, is in Albemarle Sound, midway between the mouth of the Pasquotank River to the west and the south end of Currituck Sound to the east.
