Braggtown, North Carolina

Braggtown (or Bragtown) is a neighborhood located in the northeastern corner of Durham, North Carolina. The community is centered around N. Roxboro Street (Business US-501) and the Old Oxford Highway. The area has been within the Durham city limits since the 1950s. Branford Marsalis, the noted jazz saxophonist, named his 2006 album Braggtown after the neighborhood; Marsalis has been a resident of the Durham area for the past few years.

West Point Mill

West Point Mill is a reproduction of the historic gristmill on the Eno River in north Durham, North Carolina. The mill and other historic structures are preserved in the West Point on the Eno city park. The mill operates as part of a free tour on weekends, with mill-ground meal and flour available for purchase.

Catsburg Store

Catsburg Store is located at the junction of Old Oxford Highway and Hamlin Road in Durham County, North Carolina. The Catsburg Store is about halfway between Durham and Butner, and is near historic Stagville. This two-story, hip-roofed, frame structure is a well-preserved box-and-canopy store. Built in the 1920s by Sheriff Eugene G. Belvin, it has a high false front, and a one-story gable-roof supported by large wooden posts.
