Strouds Run State Park
Strouds Run State Park is an Ohio state park located primarily in Canaan Township, Athens County, Ohio, with a small part in Ames Township. It comprises 2,606 acres, and includes Dow Lake, a 161-acre artificial lake. The lake is stocked on a yearly basis with several kinds of fish. It has been stocked with rainbow trout on a yearly basis because the trout cannot survive the winters. The park is almost entirely within the Strouds Run watershed, although it does not include the entire watershed.

Canaanville is an unincorporated community in Athens County, Ohio, United States. It has an elevation of 627 feet and is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:39|19|16|N|81|59|31|W|type:city |primary |name= }}. According to the Centennial Atlas of Athens County (1905), the community originally called Canaanville was slightly to the west, west of where Ohio State Route 690 now intersects with US Route 50.

According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 64,757, which is an increase of 4.1% from 62,223 in 2000. Its county seat is Athens. Because the original state university was founded there in 1804, the town and the county were named for the ancient center of learning, Athens, Greece.
