Marion County, Ohio

Marion County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 66,501, which is an increase of 0.4% from 66,217 in 2000. Its county seat is the city of Marion and is named for General Francis "The Swamp Fox" Marion, an officer in the Revolutionary War. The Marion Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Marion County.

WOCB-CD

WOCB-CD and WXCB-CD are independent religious television stations in Central Ohio, broadcasting locally on channels 39 and 42. Founded August 24, 1987, the station is owned by Central Ohio Association of Christian Broadcasters, along with sister-station WGCT-CD. The station's web site claims that there is an additional WOCB-CA transmitter on channel 48 in Kenton, Ohio, the FCC shows Kenton was originally granted a limited license.

WMRN (AM)

WMRN is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Marion, Ohio, USA, ("MRN" stands for Marion Radio News) the station serves the Mid-Ohio area. The station is currently owned by Citicasters Licenses, L.P. and features programing from Fox News Radio, Fox Sports Radio and Premiere Radio Networks. Launched December 23, 1940. As the first station to broadcast from Marion, WMRN has traditionally been viewed as Marion County's "home" radio station.

Veterans Memorial Coliseum (Marion)

The Veterans Memorial Coliseum is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena, in Marion, Ohio. It was built in 1950. It is home to the Marion Blue Racers indoor football team of the Continental Indoor Football League. The arena was formerly home to the Marion Barons, a minor league professional ice hockey team during the 1953-54 International Hockey League season. The Toledo Mercurys played part of the 1955-56 season at the arena, operating as the "Toledo-Marion Mercurys.
