The Granville Female College was a historical women's college located in Granville, Ohio, United States. It was established in 1838 and closed in 1898. In 1867, the name of the Institution was changed to Granville Female College, the course of study has been enlarged and the fine arts are claiming more and more attention. The population was 5,646 at the 2010 census. Granville is known for its New England character and historic architecture, including the Greek Revival Avery Downer House and many others. The Buxton Inn (1812) and the Granville Inn (1924) are two landmarks of Granville.
