McSwain Theatre
The McSwain Theatre is a 560-seat theatre located in Ada, Oklahoma. The theatre was founded in 1920 by Foster McSwain, and served as a venue for silent films, vaudeville performances and film premieres. The theatre opened on March 30, 1920 and is housed in a three story, Spanish Mission style building. The first film to show at the McSwain was Suds starring Mary Pickford on July 19, 1920. In 1935, the theatre underwent its first renovations.

Ada is a city in and the county seat of Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. The population was 16,810 at the 2010 census. Ada is an Oklahoma Main Street City, an Oklahoma Certified City, a Tree City USA member, and a National Weather Service StormReady Community. The city was named after Ada Reed, the daughter of an early settler and was incorporated in 1901. Ada is home to East Central University.
