Lake of the Arbuckles
The Lake of the Arbuckles is a reservoir located in southern Oklahoma, 6 miles southwest of Sulphur in Murray County. The secluded lake covers 235 acres and is a principal water supply reservoir for the city of Ardmore, some 30 mi (48 km) to the southwest. It is located at the confluence of Buckhorn, Guy Sandy, and Rock Creeks. The lake is very scenic, nestled within reach of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

Ardmore Air Force Base

It was active during World War II as a heavy bomber training airfield and during the early years of the Cold War as a troop carrier base. It was closed on 31 March 1959.
