Three Valley Museum

The Three Valley Museum is a non-profit museum in Durant, Oklahoma. It houses a collection of artifacts regarding the history of Bryan County. It opened in 1976. It is named after the book Queen of the Three Valleys by Henry McCreary. The Book is about Durant. Durant is in the middle of the Red, Blue, and Washita River valleys. The museum is operated by the Durant Historical Society.

Durant, Oklahoma

Durant is a city in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 15,856 at the 2010 census. Durant is the principal city of the Durant Micropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 42,416 in 2010. Durant ranks as the second largest city within the Choctaw Nation, following McAlester, and ahead of Poteau. The city was founded by Dixon Durant, a Choctaw who lived in the area, after the MK&T railroad came through the Indian Territory in the early 1870s.

Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library

Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library is the primary academic library at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. Construction began in 1927 and was completed in 1928 in Colonial Revival architecture, during Henry Garland Bennett's presidency, SOSU's sixth president. The collection at Bennett Library has over 183,000 volumes, 485,000 microforms, and 878 current periodical titles. It also has a selection of newspapers, sound recordings, videos, and software.
