Guthrie, Oklahoma

Guthrie is a city in and the county seat of Logan County, Oklahoma, United States, and a part of the Oklahoma City Metroplex. The population was 10,191 at the 2010 census, a 2.7 percent increase from the 9,925 at the 2000 census. Guthrie was the territorial and later the first state capital for Oklahoma. Guthrie is nationally significant because of its outstanding collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century commercial architecture.

Old Santa Fe Depot of Guthrie

Old Santa Fe Depot of Guthrie is a railway station in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The depot now stands empty as of 1-2013, and is For Sale. This is no longer a working depot. Amtrak does not stop here any longer. Back in the early 1900's after the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889, there were up to 40 trains stopping here every day. Back then the famous Harvey House restaurant was located here. The Santa Fe Depot on the east side of the tracks on Guthrie's west side was constructed in 1903. It is 185 ft.

Guthrie Scottish Rite Museum

The Guthrie Scottish Rite Museum is a museum in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The museum is located at the Scottish Rite Temple (Guthrie, Oklahoma), which claims to be one of the world's largest Masonic Centers. The building was built in 1919 in Classical Revival style and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival

The Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival is held annually in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The festival was founded as a nonprofit organization by Guthrie resident Byron Berline and Oklahoma state representative Joe Hutchinson in 1996. Each year the festival supports music education through music scholarships and other educational opportunities. The three-day festival draws over 15,000 participants.
