Detroit Lake
Detroit Lake is a reservoir impounded by the Detroit Dam on the North Santiam River 46 miles southeast of Salem, Oregon, United States. The lake is adjacent to Oregon Route 22 near the city of Detroit. This mesotrophic lake stores water for use by the city of Salem and other nearby communities.

Detroit Dam
Detroit Dam was completed in 1953 by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers on the North Santiam River between Linn County and Marion County, Oregon, in the Cascades. The dam created 400-foot deep Detroit Lake, more than 9 miles (14 km) long with 32 miles (51 km) of shoreline. The dam, dedicated on June 10, 1953, was authorized for the purposes of flood control, power generation, navigation, and irrigation. Other uses are fishery, water quality, and recreation. Fishing is allowed from the dam.

Elkhorn Creek (Marion County, Oregon)
Elkhorn Creek is a 7.6-mile long stream in Marion County, Oregon, United States. Its source is on the northern edge of the Willamette National Forest, about 3.5 miles north of Big Cliff Reservoir. The creek flows mostly west, receiving Big Twelve Creek, Buckhorn Creek, and Buck Creek all from the south, and it enters the Little North Santiam River just south of Elkhorn Woods Park, about 5 miles north of the city of Gates.

Bull of the Woods Wilderness
The Bull of the Woods Wilderness is a wilderness area located in the Mount Hood National Forest in the northwestern Cascades of Oregon, United States. It was created in 1984 and consists of 37,607 acres including prime low-elevation old growth forest, about a dozen lakes of at least 1-acre and many large creeks and streams. Adjacent areas, including Opal Creek Wilderness to the west, create a pristine area of nearly 84 square miles . There are at least ten trailheads and 60 miles of trail.
