Zigzag Ranger Station
The Zigzag Ranger Station is a Forest Service compound consisting of twenty rustic buildings located in Oregon’s Mount Hood National Forest. It was built as the administrative headquarters for the Zigzag Ranger District. It is located in the small unincorporated community of Zigzag, Oregon. Many of the historic buildings were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1933 and 1942. Today, the Forest Service still uses the ranger station as the Zigzag Ranger District headquarters.

West Coast Airlines Flight 956 was a scheduled commercial flight which crashed on October 1, 1966, approximately 5.5 miles south of Wemme, Oregon, United States. Thirteen passengers and five crew members were aboard, and there were no survivors. The aircraft was destroyed by the impact and subsequent fire.

The Salmon River National Recreation Trail is a National Recreation Trail in Oregon's northern Cascade Mountains among the foothills of Mount Hood. About 12 miles of the trail's 70 miles length is within the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness, and parallels the Salmon River, though often along the top of a high cliff.
