Interstate 99

Interstate 99 (I-99) is an intrastate Interstate Highway located in central Pennsylvania in the United States. The southern terminus of the route is at exit 146 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike north of Bedford, where the road continues south as U.S. Route 220 (US 220). The northern terminus is at I-80 near Bellefonte. I-99 passes through Altoona and State College–the latter home to Pennsylvania State University–and is entirely concurrent to US 220.

Graysdale, Pennsylvania

Graysdale is an unincorporated community in Patton Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40.8130|N|77.9548|W|region:US_type:city|||| |primary |name= }}. The Red Bank Branch of the Bellefonte Central Railroad, from Mattern Junction to Red Bank, was built through the town around 1887. The branch was built to carry iron ore, the mining of which supported Graysdale and other local towns.

Scotia was a village in Patton Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40|47|59|N|77|56|46|W|region:US_type:city |primary |name= }}. Although the community was called Scotia, the name of the local post office was Benore (Ben being the Gaelic for "mountain "). It got its start when Andrew Carnegie, through the Edgar Thompson Steel Company, leased large tracts of iron ore in the township.
