Tacony, Philadelphia

Tacony is a historic neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, about 10 miles from downtown ("Center City") Philadelphia. It is the oldest continuously occupied neighborhood (by Europeans) in Philadelphia. It is bounded by Frankford Avenue on the northwest, Cottman Avenue on the northeast, Robbins Street on the southwest, and the Delaware River and Interstate 95 on the southeast. Early Swedish records spelled it Taokanick, a Lenape word for "forest" or "wilderness.

Tacony (SEPTA station)

Tacony Station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station at Disston and Keystone Streets, at Disston Park in the Tacony neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station is in zone 2 on the SEPTA Trenton Line, on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor, and is 12.1 track miles (19.5 km) from Suburban Station. In 2004, this station saw 131 boardings on an average weekday. Amtrak does not stop at this station.

Frankford Stadium

Frankford Stadium was a football field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was the home of the Frankford Yellow Jackets football team of the National Football League, which predated the Philadelphia Eagles. The stadium was also known as Yellow Jacket Field. The stadium, located at Frankford Avenue and Devereaux Street, was the Yellow Jackets' home from 1923 through 1930.

Holmesburg Junction (SEPTA station)

Holmesburg Junction Station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station at Rhawn and Decatur Streets, in the Holmesburg neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station is in zone 2 on the SEPTA Trenton Line, on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor, and is 13.1 track miles from Suburban Station. At Holmesburg Junction the Bustleton Branch of the railroad splits from the main tracks and runs to the interior of Northeast Philadelphia. In 2004, this station saw 436 boardings on an average weekday.
