Dorchester, South Carolina

Dorchester was a town in South Carolina. Situated on the Ashley River around 18 miles from Charleston, it was founded in February 1696 by the followers of Reverend Joseph Lord from Dorchester, Massachusetts, who gave it the same name of the town whence they had emigrated, which was in turn named after the English town Dorchester. It was abandoned in 1751.

Ladson, South Carolina

Ladson is a census-designated place (CDP) in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The population was 13,264 at the 2000 census. Most all of what had been the census-designated place, Ladson, has been annexed into the town of Summerville and the City of North Charleston since the 2000 census.

Rollings Middle School of the Arts

R.H. Rollings Middle School of the Arts (RMSA) teaches grades six to eight in Summerville, South Carolina. Their colors are purple and gold and they are known as the Knights. RMSA has seven main core areas: visual arts, vocal, theater arts, dance, piano, strings, and band. They have football, baseball, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, tennis and softball teams, as well as other clubs. As of 2006 its population was 632 children ranging from the ages of 10-14.
