McClellanville is a small fishing town in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 459 at the 2000 census. It is situated on the Atlantic coast, on land surrounded by Francis Marion National Forest and has traditionally derived its livelihood from the sea and coastal marshes by fishing, shrimping and oystering. Lincoln High School (McClellanville, South Carolina)

Cape Romain Lighthouses

Cape Romain Lighthouses are a pair of brick lighthouses on Lighthouse Island southeast of McClellanville, South Carolina. The lighthouses are on the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. They survived Hurricane Hugo that devastated the area. The lighthouses were named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. During the times of Spanish exploration, Cape Romain was known as Cape Roman, and then briefly, Cape Carteret.

Santee River

The Santee River is a river in South Carolina in the United States, 143 miles long. The Santee and its tributaries provide the principal drainage and navigation for the central coastal plain of South Carolina, emptying into the Atlantic Ocean approximately 440 miles from its farthest headwater on the Catawba River in North Carolina. Much of upper river is impounded as the expansive, horn-shaped Lake Marion reservoir, formed by the 8-mile -long Santee Dam.
