WLGI, known as "Radio Bahá'í", is licensed to Hemingway, South Carolina, and broadcasts at 90.9 FM. The station broadcasts a variety of programming, both religious and secular, targeting mostly African-Americans. It is a college radio station, licensed by the FCC for noncommercial Class C operation, and operated by the Louis G. Battle of Black Mingo

The Battle of Black Mingo was a skirmish during the American Revolution. It took place in September 1780 in the vicinity of Dollard's Tavern near Black Mingo Creek not far from Willtown, South Carolina. General Francis Marion attacked and scattered a contingent of Loyalist troops that had been left to secure the region by Colonel Banastre Tarleton after his destructive march through the area.

Carvers Bay High School

Carvers Bay High School is a high school in Georgetown County, South Carolina, USA, and is part of the Georgetown County School District. It is a government funded school for high school students (grades 9-12). The school is the result of the merger between Choppee High School and Pleasant Hill High School and opened in 2000. In 2000 the school had nearly 800 students attending.
