Branchville, South Carolina

Branchville is a town in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,024 at the 2010 census. When the train depot (now a museum) was in use, three presidents stopped by the depot: William H. Taft, William McKinley, and Teddy Roosevelt. Each year Branchville celebrates its railroad history by holding a Raylrode Daze festival, usually during the last full weekend in September. The first festival was held in 1969.

Orangeburg County, South Carolina

Orangeburg County is a county located in the Piedmont region of the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2010 census, the population was 92,501. Its county seat is Orangeburg. It is home to Claflin University, a private college located in Orangeburg that is the oldest historically black college or university (HBCU) in the state. It is also the location of South Carolina State University, the only public HBCU in the state.
