The Battle of Blountville, sometimes called Battle of Blountsville, was a battle of the American Civil War, occurring on September 22, 1863, in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Blountville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sullivan County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 3,074 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Sullivan County. and is the only Tennessee county seat not to be an incorporated city or town. Blountville is part of the Kingsport–Bristol (TN)–Bristol (VA) Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region.

Sullivan County, Tennessee

Sullivan County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. When originally established in 1779, it was a North Carolina county; and from 1784 to 1788 was part of the extra-legal State of Franklin. As of 2010, the population was 156,823. Its county seat is Blountville.

Sullivan Central High School

Sullivan Central High School is a 9th through 12th grade high school in Blountville, Tennessee. It has around 1000 students annually. The two middle schools that feed into Central are Blountville Middle School and Holston Middle School. The school's mascot is the cougar. The current principal is Mark Foster.

Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol Motor Speedway, formerly known as Bristol International Raceway and Bristol Raceway is a NASCAR short track venue located in Bristol, Tennessee. Constructed in 1960, it held its first NASCAR race on July 30, 1961. Despite its short length, Bristol is among the most popular tracks on the NASCAR schedule because of its distinct features, that include extraordinarily steep banking, an all concrete surface, two pit roads and stadium-like seating.
