Walterhill, Tennessee

Walterhill, also known as Walter Hill, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The population was 401 at the 2010 census. Walterhill is the site of the 34-acre Walterhill Floodplain State Natural Area, established to support a rare plant species found in the Stones River floodplain, the Stones River bladderpod. Walterhill is best known in the local area for being the site of Allied Waste Industries' Middle Point landfill.

Battle of Stones River

The Battle of Stones River or Second Battle of Murfreesboro (in the South, simply the Battle of Murfreesboro), was fought from December 31, 1862, to January 2, 1863, in Middle Tennessee, as the culmination of the Stones River Campaign in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. Of the major battles of the Civil War, Stones River had the highest percentage of casualties on both sides.

Charles M. Murphy Athletic Center (Murphy Center for short) is the name of the main athletic department building at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States. The building was built in 1973 and named in honor of Charles M. "Bubber" Murphy, a standout athlete at the college in the 1930s and later the school's football coach from 1947 to 1967.

Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium is a stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders. It also serves as the stadium for the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's (TSSAA) State High School Football Championships. It previously served as the home stadium for Riverdale and Oakland high schools, for a long period when those schools did not have stadiums.
