Giles County, Tennessee

Giles County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of 2010, the population was 29,485. Its county seat is Pulaski. Southern agriculture pioneer and publisher Cully Cobb was born in Giles County. He was an editor of Progressive Farmer magazine before accepting an appointment in Washington, D.C. , in Franklin D. Roosevelt's administration as director of the Cotton Division of the New Deal agency, the Agricultural Adjustment Administration.

Pulaski, Tennessee

Pulaski is a city in Giles County, Tennessee . The population was 7,870 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Giles County. It was named to honor the Polish-born American Revolutionary War hero Kazimierz Pułaski. Pulaski is most well known for being the birthplace of the Ku Klux Klan. It is also home of the semi-annual Diana Singing, sponsored by the Churches of Christ, which attracts over 3,000 people to the town in June and September.

Giles County High School

Giles County High School's nickname in athletics is the Bobcats; the school mascot is a bobcat. The school is considered a basketball school, as it has won 2 girls' state championships with numerous state tournament appearances. The boys' team has had its share of success, winning their first state championship in 2003 under the guidance of head coach Billy Holt. State scores are slightly below average. English 1-4 is offered with Honors and AP options.
