Marshall County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Its county seat is Lewisburg. As of 2000, the population was 26,767. Marshall County is the home of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors' Association. Another native of Marshall County is the fainting goat. Jim Nance McCord
Jim Nance McCord (March 17, 1879 – September 2, 1968) was an American journalist and politician who served as Governor of Tennessee from 1945 to 1949, and was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1943 to 1945. He was also Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Conservation from 1953 to 1958, and was a delegate to the state constitutional convention of 1953.
