Gamaliel is a city in Monroe County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 439 at the 2000 census. Around 1836, James Crawford and John Hayes saw that a town was springing up and donated ten acres of land, at a point where their farms met, to be used for educational and religious purposes. On this property a building was erected and used for school and church, and in 1844 a cemetery was added.

Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site
Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site is a 20-acre park in Monroe County, Kentucky. It features the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse, a Baptist church built around the turn of the 19th century, and its adjacent cemetery. The site became part of the park system in 1931. The oldest log meetinghouse in Kentucky, it was built in 1804 during a period of religious revival. Many Revolutionary War soldiers and pioneers, including Daniel Boone's sister, Hannah, are buried there.
