WDIA

WDIA is a radio station based in Memphis, Tennessee. Active since 1947, it soon became the first radio station in America that was programmed entirely for African-Americans. It featured black radio personalities and its black listeners constituted a new market for radio advertisers. The WDIA Goodwill Fund is dedicated to helping an empowering black communities.

Memphis International Raceway

Memphis International Raceway (formerly known as Memphis Motorsports Park) is an auto racing park located across the Loosahatchie River from Memphis, Tennessee, approximately ten miles south of Millington, Tennessee. The facility opened in 1987 with a drag strip and 1.8-mile (2.9 km) road course. It includes a 3/4-mile tri-oval short track, built in 1998, which once hosted the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series, as well as an ASA Late Model Series race.

WHBQ (AM)

WHBQ is an AM radio station in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States of America. Its frequency is 560 kHz. Although today it broadcasts sports news exclusively, the station became famous in the 1950s for playing rhythm and blues. WHBQ was once owned by RKO General. Its legend was made by Dewey Phillips, a disc jockey (DJ) who played rhythm and blues music on his night-time show, Red, Hot and Blue.

Shelby Forest, Tennessee

Shelby Forest is an unincorporated community in Shelby County, Tennessee, United States. The area is located roughly twelve miles north of Downtown Memphis, just west of the Frayser area and eight miles (13 km) south of Millington. The area includes the former communities of Benjestown, Locke, Cuba, and Woodstock each previously maintaining their own post office.
