Boonville, Texas

Boonville, Texas was the first county seat of Brazos County. When the Houston and Texas Central Railway was extended from Millican to Bryan in 1866, Bryan was made the county seat. Today, all that remains of Boonville is the cemetery on Boonville Road marked by a Texas Centennial monument. The former town site is now located in Bryan, Texas near State Highway 6. The city was named in honor of Mordecai Boon, Sr. , nephew of Daniel Boone.

Brazos County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas in the Central Texas region. As of the 2010 census, its population was 194,851. The county seat is Bryan and it is part of the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area. Along with Brazoria County, Brazos is named for the Brazos River, which forms its western border.

Bryan is a city in Brazos County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 76,201. It is the county seat of Brazos County and is located in the heart of the Brazos Valley (Southeast Central Texas). It shares its border with the city of College Station, which lies to its south. Together they are referred to as the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area, the sixteenth largest Metropolitan area in Texas containing around 190,000 people.
