Tyler Pounds Regional Airport

Tyler Pounds Regional Airport is an airport located six miles west of Tyler, Texas. The airport currently has three paved runways. In recent years, the airport has been expanding in order to meet goals outlined within "The Tyler Master Plan. " On August 17, 2002, the airport opened a new terminal building, which doubled the available space. Tyler Pounds Regional is a large center for General Aviation. The airport has three public parking lots for General Aviation arrivals.

Noonday, Texas

Noonday is a city in Smith County, Texas, United States. The population was 515 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Tyler, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Noonday is perhaps best known for the "Noonday Onion," reputed to be one of the sweetest onions available. An onion must be grown within a ten mile radius of Noonday in order to be considered a "Noonday Onion". The "Noonday Onion Festival" is held each year in May.

David Koresh

David Koresh (born Vernon Wayne Howell; August 17, 1959 – April 19, 1993) was the leader of the Branch Davidians religious sect, believing himself to be its final prophet. Howell legally changed his name to David Koresh on May 15, 1990. A 1993 raid by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the subsequent siege by the FBI ended with the burning of the Branch Davidian ranch outside of Waco, Texas, in McLennan County.
