Cresson, Texas

Cresson is a city in Hood, Johnson, and Parker counties in the U.S. state of Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 377 and State Highway 171, seventeen miles southwest of Fort Worth. The Pate Museum is in Parker County in between the two neighborhoods of Bourland Field and Bluebonnet Hills on U.S. Route 377. Incorporated in 2001, Cresson had an estimated population of 856 as of July 1, 2009, according to the United States Census Bureau.

Brazos Bend, Texas

Brazos Bend is a city in Hood County, Texas, United States. It was incorporated in May 2004 and is located along the main stem of the Brazos River. The city is part of the Granbury, Texas Micropolitan Statistical Area. Brazos Bend had an estimated population of 305 in 2010. The Granbury Independent School District serves area students.

Acton, Texas

Acton is a small unincorporated community located about seven miles (11 km) due east of Granbury on the Brazos River in Hood County, Texas, United States. It is the home of Acton State Historic Site, which is the burial site of Elizabeth Crockett, second wife of Davy Crockett. The site consists of 0.006 acres, which makes it the smallest state park in Texas. The Acton Nature Center of Hood County is open to anyone who enjoys the peace and quiet of nature at its finest.

Acton State Historic Site

Acton State Historic Site, located approximately 6 miles east of Granbury in Hood County, Texas, is the grave site of Elizabeth Patton Crockett, second wife of Davy Crockett, who married him in Tennessee in 1815. She died January 31, 1860. The site also contains the graves of her son Robert and Robert's wife Matilda. A monument was erected at Acton Cemetery in honor of Elizabeth with money authorized by the Texas Legislature in 1911.
