Cherry Springs Dance Hall

Cherry Springs Dance Hall, is one of the oldest and most historic dance halls in Texas. It is located at 17662 North U.S. Highway 87, Cherry Springs, TX 78624. The Texas farming community of Cherry Spring is 16 miles miles NW of Fredericksburg, Texas in Gillespie County's portion of the Texas Hill Country. The dance hall was established along the old Pinta Trail in 1889 as a stop for cattle drives.

Leonie von Meusebach–Zesch

Leonie von Meusebach–Zesch (November 27, 1882 – July 7, 1944) was an early 20th Century pioneer female dentist who practiced in Texas, Alaska, Arizona and California. She is also known as Leonie von Zesch or Leonie Zesch. She was inducted into the Alaska Women's Hall of Fame in 2012. She was a dental surgeon with the United States Army following the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Her mother worked with the American Red Cross to document survivors after the disaster.

Gillespie County, Texas

Gillespie County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 24,837. It is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Gillespie is named for Robert Addison Gillespie, who came to Texas in 1837. He was a Texas Ranger, an Indian fighter, a merchant and a soldier in the Mexican-American War. The seat of the county is Fredericksburg. On December 15, 1847, a petition was submitted to create Gillespie County.
