Egypt is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Texas. It lies at an elevation of 203 feet (62 m). Egypt was settled by George Bell Madeley. He provided corn to the area Farmers in a time of drought. The farmers named the area Egypt, after the Bible story in which Jacob’s family went to Egypt to buy corn. .

Montgomery County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The county was created by an act of the Congress of the Republic of Texas on December 14, 1837. The county was named for the town of Montgomery, Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 455,746. A 55.14% growth rate in the ten years from the last U.S. Census—making the county the 24th fastest-growing county in the United States. The seat of the county is Conroe.

Shenandoah, Texas

Shenandoah is a city in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,134 at the 2010 census. David Vetter, the famous "boy in the plastic bubble", was from Shenandoah. In 1986 the Shenandoah city council renamed Tamina School Road to David Memorial Drive in honor of Vetter.
