Leonard E. Merrell Center

The Leonard E. Merrell Center is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Katy, Texas. It was built in 2005 and was the former home of the Katy Copperheads and the Katy Ruff Riders of the Intense Football League. Since 2008 the Merrell Center has hosted the Southland Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments. The Houston Stallions of the Lone Star Football League moved to the Merrell Center in 2011.

Aristoi Classical Academy

Aristoi Classical Academy, formerly West Houston Charter School, is a state charter school in Katy, Texas. The school, which serves grades K-8, is limited by the State of Texas to have up to 325 students. The school may accept students residing in the following school districts: Alief, Cypress-Fairbanks, Fort Bend, Houston, Katy ISD, Lamar Consolidated, and Royal. It does not accept residents of the Sealy Independent School District. At one time the school had a high school program.
