Gustine, Texas

Gustine is a town located in Comanche County in Central Texas. The population was 476 at the 2010 census. The town, formerly known as Cora, was the county seat in the 1850s. Jim Reese, a Republican politician who served as the mayor of Odessa, Texas, from 1968 to 1974, was born in Gustine in 1929 and graduated from Gustine High School.

Edna Hill, Texas

Edna Hill is an unincorporated community in Erath County, Texas, United States located in the extreme southwestern corner of the county along Fm-1702 around nine miles south of the City of Dublin in Central Texas. The first settlers of the area arrived around the 1850s. In the early 1900s a school was opened in the community and from 1935 to 1940 Edna Hill consisted of the school, numerous homes, and 2 churches.

Proctor Lake

Proctor Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir along the Leon River located in Comanche County in the U.S. state of Texas. Around 3 miles (5 km) west of Proctor, Texas, USA. Proctor Lake Dam and the reservoir are managed by the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir was officially impounded in 1963, and serves to provide flood control and drinking water for the communities downstream. Proctor Lake is a popular recreational destination.

Proctor, Texas

Proctor is an unincorporated community located in Comanche County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 220 in 2000. It is situated along U.S. Highway 377 in eastern Comanche County, approximately twelve miles northeast of Comanche. Thomas O. Moore established the community in 1872. The settlement was moved to its present site in the early 1890s to be on the route of the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railroad.
