Lamar, Texas
Lamar is a small, unincorporated community in Aransas County, Texas, ten miles north of Rockport and forty miles north of Corpus Christi. The community was named for Mirabeau B. Lamar, the second president of the Republic of Texas. Lamar was founded in 1839 at Lookout Point, on the channel entrance to Copano Bay. President Lamar agreed to relocate the customhouse here, and the town thrived as a port and the site of a salt works.

Copano Bay Fishing Pier
The Copano Bay Fishing Pier is a pier in Aransas County, Texas, United States used primarily for recreational fishing. The pier has two separate sections. One is 2500 feet long on the south side of the bay and the other is 6190 feet, or 1,886.712 meters, long on the north side. The pier was originally the causeway across Copano Bay for State Highway 35. In 1967, a new causeway opened and the old one was closed to vehicular traffic.

St. Charles Bay
St. Charles Bay is an inlet of Aransas Bay in Aransas County, Texas. It is flanked by Lamar peninsula on the west and Blackjack peninsula on the east. The bay hosts a valued ecosystem for the endangered Whooping Crane, and is a prime location for birding and fishing. Goose Island State Park and the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge are located along the bay's shores, attracting nature enthusiasts year-round.
