Mico, founded in 1911, is an unincorporated community in northeastern Medina County, Texas, United States, approximately 40 miles west of Downtown San Antonio. The community is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). Its zip code is 78056. The Medina Irrigation Company (MICO) originally built much of the community as a workers camp, to house the approximately 1500 Mexican laborers (and their families) who constructed Medina Dam.

Medina Lake
Medina Lake is a reservoir on the Medina River in the Texas Hill Country of the United States. It is operated by the Bexar/Medina/Atascosa County Agricultural District. Medina Dam was completed in 1913 in a privately financed project, creating the lake to supply irrigation water for local agricultural use. Lake Medina is in northeastern Medina County, and southeastern Bandera County, about 40 miles (64 km) northwest of San Antonio. It is a crescent-shaped reservoir running west to east.

Bandera Falls is an unincorporated community in Bandera County, Texas, United States. It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is a residential subdivision located several miles south of Bandera and about 3.5 miles southwest of Pipe Creek. It lies along the left bank of the Medina River, just north of its outlet into Medina Lake, one of the largest bodies of water in south Texas. The Bandera Independent School District serves area students.
