Red River Army Depot

The Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is an 18,000-acre facility located 18 miles west of Texarkana, Texas in Bowie County. The facility has over 1,000,000 square feet of storage capacity. RRAD was activated in 1941 to create an ammunition storage facility. The depot was supposed to be deactivated after the findings of the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) commission. However, the depot remained open after the commission changed its mind.

KTXK

KTXK is a radio station broadcasting a public radio format. Licensed to Texarkana, Texas, USA, it serves the Texarkana area. The station is currently owned by Texarkana College and features programing from National Public Radio. The station first broadcast on February 1, 1984. Originally, its signal didn't make it too far out of the Texarkana area. However, in 2003, it boosted its power from 5,000 watts to 100,000 watts, more than tripling its coverage area.

KEWL-FM

KEWL-FM is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to New Boston, Texas, USA, it serves the Texarkana, Texas and Arkansas area. The station is currently owned by AMI Radio Group. The station used to simulcast on KGAP 98.5 FM in Clarksville, with a 50,000 watts signal. Recently, (10/2010) KGAP began broadcasting via satellite, a "KOOL" format, separate from KEWL-FM. Radio Personalities on KEWL-FM include Kelli O'Neil, Fabienne, BJ the DJ,and Mike Harvey.
