Midlothian is a city in northwest Ellis County, Texas, United States. It is the hub for the cement industry in North Texas as it is the home to three separate cement production facilities, as well as a steel mill. Midlothian is also a fast growing community with a growth rate of 142% since 2000. The population was 18,037 at the 2010 census.

Midlothian High School, Texas

Midlothian High School is a 5A public high school in Midlothian, Texas, United States. It is a part of the Midlothian Independent School District located in northwest Ellis County. It is currently the only high school in Midlothian and construction of a new high school is scheduled to be completed in a few years. In 2011, the school was rated "Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.

Texas Industries

TXI is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA. It produces construction materials, primarily cement, aggregates, and concrete. Its Midlothian plant on the south side of Midlothian, Texas is about 27 miles south of downtown Dallas. When the plant was built it was the largest cement plant in the country. TXI also operates a cement plant at Riverside, California . The Chapparal Steel plant is next to TXI's cement plant in Midlothian.
