McAllen Memorial High School

McAllen Memorial High School is one of three high schools serving the McAllen, Texas area as a part of the McAllen Independent School District. It houses over 2,000 students from grades 9-12. The school originally opened in 1975, its current location is 101 East Hackberry Avenue McAllen, Texas, USA. The school colors are Columbia blue and gold and the mascot is a mustang. McAllen Botanical Gardens (9 acres), also known as McAllen Nature Center, are city-operated botanical gardens and a nature preserve located in West McAllen at 4101 West Business US 83, McAllen, Texas. They are open daily without charge. The gardens were established in 1962, with an emphasis on palms. They also contain picnic areas and hiking trails.
