KIXY-FM
KIXY-FM is a radio station that serves the San Angelo, Texas area with a Top 40 (CHR) format. The station is owned by Foster Communications. The station went on air January 1, 1967 . 94.7 FM joined 1260 AM (which signed on in 1954). 94.7 was a simulcast by day of 1260 and continued the AM format by nights. Call letters were variously KWFR and KIXY. KWFR stood for "Walton Foster Radio". The FM antenna has always been colocated with 1260 near 27th and Volney.
