Sowers, Texas is a ghost town located approximately 11 miles northwest of Dallas, Texas in Dallas County. Today, the once rural community is located entirely within the boundaries of Irving, Texas. Of the original townsite, only the cemetery remains.

West Irving (TRE station)

West Irving Station is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail station located in Irving, Texas, at Jackson Street near Esters Road. It opened on November 13, 2000, and is a station on the TRE commuter line, serving Irving Mall with connecting bus service to Las Colinas and North Lake College. Unlike many rail stations, West Irving does not have an indoor heating/cooling facility, nor does it have a station attendant. However, it does have passenger shelters for bus and TRE riders.

Irving, Texas

Irving (pronounced 'ur-ving') is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas within Dallas County. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the city population was 216,290 making it the thirteenth most populous city in Texas. Irving is within the Dallas–Plano–Irving metropolitan division of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, designated by the U.S. Census Bureau and colloquially referred to as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Irving High School

Irving High School is a public high school in Irving, Texas. It was the first high school established in the Irving Independent School District. Irving High School includes, like all the other Irving ISD high schools, wireless internet in the classrooms, a Distance Learning Lab, and a laptop program where every student receives a laptop to use while attending. In 2009, the school was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing (TRE station)

Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station (Formerly South Irving Transit Center and later South Irving Station since 2002) is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail station located in Irving, Texas at Rock Island Road, east of O'Connor Road. It opened on December 30, 1996, and is a station on the TRE commuter line, serving downtown Irving, including the Irving Heritage District and the Irving Civic Center. This station is also served by DART.
