Nacogdoches County, Texas

Nacogdoches County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 64,524. Its county seat is Nacogdoches. The Nacogdoches Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Nacogdoches County. Nacogdoches hosts the Blueberry Festival the second Saturday in June. The county is the top blueberry producer in Texas and is headquarters for the Texas Blueberry Marketing Association. It recently tagged itself as the "Capital of the Texas Forest Country".

Woden, Texas

Woden is an unincorporated community in Nacogdoches County, Texas, United States. The area of Nacogdoches County was settled by immigrants from the Old South in the 1830s and was known as Jacobs, then later called King's Store. In 1886 a post office was established and the community was named Woden after the Old English deity Woden. In the 1890s, Woden residents moved the community to a location closer to a nearby railroad which had bypassed them, and named their new town Oval.

Homer Bryce Stadium

Homer Bryce Stadium, located in Nacogdoches, Texas, is the home of SFASU's Lumberjack football and Ladyjack and Lumberjack track and field events. The stadium includes a walking and running track open to the public. Recent renovations to the area include a sports medicine and academic center addition to the field house that houses the new athletic training program and the installation of a new artificial turf surface provided by a donation from a former Lumberjack football letterman.

Stephen F. Austin State University

Stephen F. Austin State University (commonly SFA) is a public university located in Nacogdoches, Texas, United States. Founded as a teachers' college in 1923, the university was named after one of Texas' founding fathers, Stephen F. Austin. Its campus resides on part of the homestead of another Texas founding father, Thomas Jefferson Rusk. Stephen F. Austin is one of four independent public universities in Texas (i.e. , those not affiliated with one of Texas' six university systems).
