KRIO (AM)

KRIO is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish language Christian radio format. Licensed to McAllen, Texas, USA, the station serves the McAllen-Brownsville-Harlingen area. The station is currently owned by Rio Grande Bible Institute, Inc.. KRIO has a long and colorful history. During the 1960s and early 1970s, it was "The Big 9-10," a Top 40 formatted station emphasizing fun promotions and popular personalities in a fast-paced presentation with station jingles and other production elements.

UTPA Fieldhouse

UTPA Fieldhouse is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Edinburg, Texas. It was built in 1969 and is home to the University of Texas-Pan American Broncos basketball team. Located on the far east end of the campus, the UTPA Fieldhouse is the among the oldest Division I arenas in Texas. While capacity is officially listed at 4,000, a record crowd of 5,649 jammed the Fieldhouse in 1981 to see the Broncs battle Pat Foster’s Lamar Cardinals.
