Winnsboro is a city in Franklin and Wood Counties in the U.S. state of Texas, located 40 miles north of Tyler. The population was 3,434 at the 2010 census. Settlement of Winnsboro began in the 1850s with a post office established between 1854 and 1855.

Scroggins, Texas

Scroggins is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, Texas, United States. It is located along FM 115, approximately fifteen miles south of Mount Vernon and twenty-two miles east of Sulphur Springs. Settlement of the area began in the 1850s. The community was named after Milt Scroggins, a local sawmill operator. According to the Handbook of Texas, Scroggins had an estimated population of 125 in 2000.
