KNCT (TV)

KNCT is a PBS member station serving the Waco / Killeen / Temple area on digital channel 46. Founded in November 1970, the station is owned by Central Texas College. Licensed to Belton, Texas, KNCT is based at studios at Central Texas College in Killeen. In the Waco area, it airs on cable channel 4 on Time Warner Cable and Grande Communications. When KNCT signed on in 1970, it was the sole PBS station for the western portion of the market, with the eastern portion served by Texas A&M's KAMU-TV.

Texas A&M University–Central Texas (TAMUCT) is a public university in Killeen, Texas. It is one of the newest members of The Texas A&M University System. Founded in 1999 as a branch of Tarleton State University, it became an independent member of the Texas A&M University System in September 2009. TAMUCT is an upper division college, meaning that its students must complete their freshman and sophomore-level coursework at a 2-year college or other institution of higher education.

Harker Heights, Texas

Harker Heights is a city in Bell County, Texas, United States. As of the census[1 1] of 2010, there were 26,700 people, 9,488 households, and 7,139 families residing in the city, up from a population of 17,308 at the 2000 census. This makes Harker Heights the 3rd largest city in Bell County, after Killeen and Temple. Incorporated in 1960, the city name is derived from the name of one of the two original landowners and founder, Harley Kern.
