Pruess Lake

Pruess Lake is a small spring-fed lake in Snake Valley, Millard County, west-central Utah. It is just south of Garrison and north of Burbank. It was named after Charles Preuss, a cartographer who was on John C. Fremont's first and second expeditions. Where or when the spelling error (Preuss vs Pruess) occurred is unknown, but all maps and official state naming documents mention the lake's name as Pruess. The area of the lake is about one square mile.

Border Inn

The Border Inn is a motel on the Utah/Nevada border in Baker, Nevada on U.S. 6/U.S. 50. It is located near Great Basin National Park. This motel is unique because while the motel rooms are in Utah, and on Mountain Time, the office, restaurant, and casino are in Nevada, and Pacific Time. The motel also serves as the housing facilities for the seasonal park rangers of the nearby Great Basin National Park.

Great Basin National Park

Great Basin National Park is a United States National Park established in 1986, located in east-central Nevada near the Utah border. The park derives its name from the Great Basin, the dry and mountainous region between the Sierra Nevada and the Wasatch Mountains. Topographically, this area is known as the Basin and Range Province. The park is located approximately 290 miles north of Las Vegas and protects 77,180 acres .

Hamlin Valley

Hamlin Valley is a mostly north-south trending valley of the Great Basin located on both sides of the Nevada–Utah state line. It is about 60 miles long. Its north-northeast end point adjacent the state line, is the southwest start region of the Snake Valley (Great Basin).
