Navajo Lake (Utah)

Navajo Lake is a small lake in northwestern Kane County in southern Utah. It is shallow, reaching depths of only 25 feet. Recreation includes fishing, boating, swimming, and lodging facilities. Species of trout in Navajo Lake are brook trout, splake trout (hybrid), and rainbow trout. Trout survival for winter is very poor with only the splake and brook trout overwintering. There is also a dense population of Utah chub. The lake was formed by a lava floe across the eastern end of the valley.

Markagunt Plateau

The Markagunt Plateau is an 800-square-mile plateau located in southwestern Utah between Interstate 15 and U.S. Route 89. It is one of the plateaus that make up the High Plateaus Section of the Colorado Plateau Province. The name is derived from a Piute word meaning "Highland of Trees".

Brian Head Ski Resort

Brian Head Ski Resort, officially called just "Brian Head Resort", is a ski area located at the town of Brian Head, Utah on Brian Head Peak in the southern Wasatch Range at the base of Parowan, Utah, United States. Opened in 1965, it is Utah's highest ski resort. Brian Head is owned by Jim Trees and is operated and managed by Henry Hornberger of Parowan.

Panguitch Lake

Panguitch Lake was originally a large natural lake (777 acres) that has now been expanded by the creation of a 24-foot dam to become a reservoir with a maximum surface area of 1,248 acres . The lake, which drains into the Sevier River is located on the Markagunt Plateau, between Panguitch, Utah and Cedar Breaks National Monument. The lake is located in the Dixie National Forest in a high tourist use area near three national parks and one national monument.

The Narrows (Zion National Park)

The Narrows in Zion National Park, is a section of canyon on the North Fork of the Virgin River. The hike of The Narrows is one of the premier hikes on the Colorado Plateau. The term The Narrows refers to both the through-hike of The Narrows, and to The Narrows themselves, especially the 3.6 miles long section of canyon between the end of the Riverside Walk Trail and Big Spring. The Narrows lies north of, and upstream of, the main Zion Canyon.
